My Grandma and (Great) Aunt Zu Zu's visit

My grandma and great aunt zu zu came all the way from CA to see me! They even stayed for a week. I gave up my room so they could sleep in it, but for some reason no one wanted to sleep in my crib :(

I just love my grandma (even when I cry) she sings me silly songs and tells me all kinds of funny stories! My aunt zu zu is a very funny lady! She talks to me in such a sweet voice and lets me chew on her fingers all day long!

While they were visiting me, we went on a hike to the dismal swamp.

It was quite hot out and I wanted out of my stroller. So of course my papa carried me!

The next day we went to norfolk botanical gardens (twice!).

We walked and took lots of pictures.

There was even a pair of eagles who has 3 babies.

My aunt zu zu got to see an eagle in flight for the first time. Although I am sure she was much more impressed with me ;)

We even stopped and had a pinic lunch my papa made for us. Sadly though while we stopped to take pictures a crow swooped in and stole half of his sandwich!

After all the fun- both my aunt and grandma had to leave and go back home. I dont understand why they can't stay forever :(

...and the little one said; ROLL OVER!!!

Thats right! I am 19 weeks and I rolled over (Tuesday April 20, 2010), not only once- but three times in a row! Sadly my Papa was at work and mommy didn't have time to get the camera to take a picture. BUT my grandma was here to see me do it for the first time! How exciting!

Sadly, mommy have been trying ever since to get me to roll over again and I just wont do it. After I rolled over she'd place me right back on my tummy, so what is the point of rolling over if I have to go right back???

Maybe one day I'll do it again

4 month check up!

Here we go again! Back to see my favorite doctor, Dr. D!!! He seemed very pleased to see me and said I was a wonderful; great looking baby (of course I know he tells ALL the babies that!).

They checked my height and weight. I am 15 1/2 pounds (WOW!) and 25 inches long. I am in the 80th percentile for both height and weight.

And then- the dreaded vaccines! Today I got the oral rv vaccine. Mommy does not like the lady who gives me the medicine. She sqeezes my checks to try to get me to swallow the medicine and I hate it! Next came time for the shot in the thigh! But I did much, much better this time.

Only a little scream and a few seconds of crying- BUT NO TEARS and NO HOLDING MY BREATH until I turn fire red. Mommy is so proud of me, she even called me her big girl!

On the road again!

So this morning I said goodbye to my Great Grandma. I sure do hope to see her soon! She has been having more troubles with her mobility. There was some sores on her feet and she has been having troubles getting up and down on her own. She actually has just gotten to come home from staying at a nursing home for over 2 months! Great Grandma lives alone- and although she is a very strong lady, she is also strong willed and stubborn (runs in the family!!!). I sure do hope she takes care of herself, we dont want to see her going anywhere!!!

And so we hit the road again!

This time I went right to sleep, much to mommy's enjoyment! When I woke- to mommy's surprise I even took to the bottle she made for me. See- mommy was so worried about giving me a bottle when I was a newborn that I now want nothing to do with it and scream and refuse it. However- on a long car ride it's nearly impossible to breastfeed a baby safely!! Note the "nearly"... ;) So after 10-15 minutes for trying to get me to take the bottle I finally gave in and took 3 oz, just enough to tie me over til the next stop!

On the road we hit a bit of traffic, and a few back ups. BUT we made it back in much better time and in one piece!

Picture time!!!

When I'm around; it's always picture time! I know exactly what a camera looks like and even a "flip" camcorder too! It was a long day and the lack of naps was staring to take it's toll, however, I'd never pass up a chance to get a few quick snaps of me and a bow- and OF COURSE my great grandma!

I sure do hope my Great Grandma will be here for a long long time! I hope to be able to play with her and for her to teach me all sorts of things when I get a little older.

We also headed down to the cemetery where my Aunt Rachel, Great Pappy, and Grandpa and Grandma Hilton are resting.

I don't understand why mommy took me to a place with a ton of rocks when she told me we'd be seeing my family. Maybe one day I'll understand...

Easter 2010

Happy Easter everyone! Today I woke up bright and early, 4:30am to be exact! I was too excited to sleep when I knew what a pretty outfit I had to wear for Easter! After breakfast we headed off to Church. Mommy was nervous that I'd be fussy- but I surprised her and slept through the organs, and hymns, and all of my Great Grandma's friends cooing over me and my cousin!

After Church we headed back to the house and it was just too pretty to stay inside, she out we went for more pictures! The sun was in my eyes and the grass tickled my legs- but just like mommy said- sometimes it hurts to be this beautiful!!!

Sadly, I was away from my Papa and doggies. I sure do miss them :( Can't wait to get back home to see them.

Over the river and through DC traffic to Great Grandmother's house we go!

What a trip! I have waited almost 4 months to see my great grandma Shinn. Lucky lucky me, I even get to spend my first Easter with her too!

Traveling there was another story! We left Chesapeake around 2pm and make it to DC in just enough time to hit traffic!

After a few stops and snacks we finally make it to my great grandma's house... at 10:45pm!!! Even though it was late, mommy still humored me and gave me a bath before bed time!
