It's A New KITCHEN! (and half bath)

These past two weeks our house as been a little upside down!

It all started when momma and papa took everything out of the kitchen and the laundry room.

The next day a group of men came over and pulled off all the cabinets and took our washer and dryer and put it in the garage.

I wasn't sure what was going on- but I was able to eat in front of the TV and watch all the TV I wanted! I was NOT going to complain! ;)

The dining table was in the living room, the fridge was in the front and we were eating off paper plates and washing our cups in the bathroom sink. How silly!!

I even got to take naps over at my me ma's house! I didn't nap the first day, but after that I was pretty good about taking my naps.

It was loud and I couldn't go in the kitchen at all, but I made a new friend. My mommy calls him Mr. BT, but I insist on calling him Mr. T. I am not sure why everyone laughs when I say that. Mommy says that he is the man that is giving me a new kitchen and a brand new half bath. How exciting!!!

SO after a long wait here it is! There are a few finishing touches to be done, but overall it is just, completely, perfect!

This isn't it either! In a few weeks Mr. T and his crew will be back and they will be converting the living room (spare living room) into a bedroom. SO our little 2 bedroom-1 bath is now going to be a 3 bedroom 1.5 bath! ;)

Mommy is beyond happy and excited. She even started talking to me about becoming a big sister....hm mm.... but I guess that is a whole different story for a different time!

(If you are looking for a up grade or re-model I HIGHLY recommend BT and his crew. Wonderful work at an affordable price. ;) And no- they didnt pay me to say that! ;) )

Happy Birthday to ME!!

Can you believe it? I am already two!

Mommy told me a few months ago that we were going to skip having a party because all of momma and papa's savings were going into a new kitchen and half bath. BUT of course the guilt got the best of her and she changed her mind (twice!) and decided that she would feel bad if she didn't do something for my birthday. ;) Mommy knows I will never remember my early parties, but that isn't the point. The point is that I enjoy it in the moment.

On my actual birthday, I had family come over and we played and had a little dinner and I got to open presents (my favorite party!). The next day my Aunt Amber, and Uncle Aaron took me to Animal Jungle and let me pick out my very own fish!

I (with mommy's help) named him ROCKETFISH! What do you think?

Next was my birthday party and Hunt Club farm was the location! Some of my friends and I will enjoy playing at the farm, petting and feeding animals and jumping in some bounce houses!

I love watching Little Einsteins, so we made it a Little Einsteins on the farm theme!

We had a very hard time narrowing down the guest list. Sadly, many places limit you to the amount of people. This one was 50. I know, you think...50!?!?! Well- they count everyone including adults! And when 20 of those are simply family members.... it adds up very quick. I wish I could have had all my friends, but sadly that wasn't possible.

Momma made cake pops and even decorated Styrofoam cubes to stick the pops into. Sadly the combination of icing and holes- created a blockage and Momma was having a terrible time getting the cake pops into the "cake". So after having a quick panic, Papa ran out to the store and grabbed a sheet cake. Momma changed plans and stuck the cake ball pops in the cake instead! PHEW!!!!

Everyone had so much fun at the party, me too! After playing we went back into the much needed, heated party room and have chicken nuggets (my favorite!), fruit and cake pops!

Everyone seemed to enjoy the rocket momma made for the party too!

Thank you everyone who came and everyone who thought of me on my special day!!!

Where did November go?

November came and went. I had my first "real" Thanksgiving this year. Last year mommy didnt want me eating too many "fancy" things since I was still getting used to solid food. This year was very different! I had sweet rolls, and cranberries, turkey, mash potatoes, green beans, sweet potatoes, and lots and lots of pie! Yummy!

And before I knew it, November was gone. BUT there was very exciting news for mommy, pappa, and me. Momma has been wanting an updated kitchen for years. And though it never happened, momma has been saving up for either a new kitchen or to help out with a move. You see, my parents werent thinking too far ahead into the future when they bought their house. It is a two bedroom and one bath home. So now that I am wanting to be a big sister, it's time to think about getting a bigger place.

They had a very nice realtor come over too look at the house, but very sadly momma said the market isnt good and there is really no possible way to sell the house. BUT the realtor gave momma and pappa some very good ideas and with the help of a sweet friend and her hubby- Our two bedroom, one bath house is quickly going to become a 3 bedroom, 1.5 bath! This will help us out greatly! Not only does momma and pappa not have to worry about having enough rooms for another little one, but also when the market get better they can hopefully sell the house easier. So fingers crossed for the up and coming changes! Pictures of course to follow!

The Gardens (Late Summer/Early Fall Family Pictures)

First off I want to thank (along with Momma and Papa) Miss Rachel Sutherland, from RSutherland Photography for such wonder pictures. She was wonderful and PATIENT working with us Newmans.

We headed the the botanical gardens for our first ever outdoor family pictures. It was nice and warm (and a little too humid for Mommy's taste). The whole times I was being little miss seriously, but we got a bunch of good shots!

October flies by!

So what they say is true! Time just seems to fly by after the first birthday! This month is a very special month for momma. Her favorite holiday is Sweetest Day (the 3rd Saturday of October). It's a day to just do something sweet for another, or for many. To just go out of your way to make someones day. I think I like this whole idea! It is also momma and papa's anniversary. This year they have been marriage for 4 years (together for 6). They celebrated by dropping me off at my Pappy's and Mema's house while they went out and got a massage. They think they had fun? Well I got to stay up late and watch TV...NOW THAT'S FUN! It was also my Pappy's 50th birthday...man...that is OLD! And mommy even said that my greatpappy passed away many years ago in October too.

We spent the whole month running around and playing outside A LOT. Mommy said it was going to get cold soon and that she LOVED the fall weather so we were going to take FULL ADVANTAGE of it! We headed to the Great Bridge Pumpkin Patch. I checked out the pumpkins and walked around a little...BUT I couldn't stay away from all the "jump-jumps" Mommy said I could go in and BOY did I enjoy myself. I bounced and jumped, and went down slides. Yep, I even fell down a few times!!!! But I really had a good time! Next was time to finish my costume! Momma said this was probably the last time she could pick out my costume and she wanted to take full advantage of that. SO here it is!!!! A PEACOCK! My momma and mema made the whole costume. I loved it! Mommy even glued all the tail feathers on...piece...by...piece...by...piece.... A few days later we were invited to the annual ZOO BOO (a trick or treat at the local zoo). Momma dressed me up and we headed out. It was COLD that day and we had to stand in a long line, but finished after getting into the zoo I quickly realized what "trick or treat" meant. CANDY!!!!!! In no time I figured out all I had to do was open up my bag, say "trick or treat", and I would get a candy or two! We walked around and saw lots of others in their costumes. Everyone loved mine and Papa even said that we should go in the costume contest. Mama wasn't too sure, but after the 10th person saying how much they loved my costume, she thought "why not?!" While waiting for the contest to start, I enjoyed the music and danced around....and around...and around in a circle!

NOW it was time! I stood in line and the judges walked up and down the line looking at all the costumes. After a few minutes the judges called out the winners (3 of them). AND I was called!!! Mommy was a little shocked, but VERY proud. Momma was almost too proud and thought (for just a quick second)..this is how pageant mom's must feel!! ;)

The very next day was Halloween. We have been talking about it for weeks and it was now time! I couldnt wait! After my nap momma scooped me up and we headed up to Newport News to go trick or tricking with my nephews. Kenneth was so sweet to show me how to go up the driveways and how to get the candy. And I was off and ready to get as much candy I could! To top it all off....it was late and we headed to my FAVORITE place ...WENDYS! I love chicky nuggets!!! :) SO I got an exra special treat and we headed home. After staying up a few more minutes to change into my pjs, I headed to bed. WHAT a GREAT way to end the month! Momma said it was just the beginning and that it will be fun like that for the rest of the year because we were just entering the holiday season! Well- if it is anything like this past month..BRING IT ON!!!

Oh the places we go!

Today grandma told me that we were going to go to a ranch and pick apples! Apples?! OH BOY!

Oh boy was right! it turns out that in Gilroy (city) it was going to be 99 degrees! OH BOY! But we weren't going to let the heat stop us from enjoying our trip to "Gizditch Ranch"

I saw tractors, and barns, and TREES! OH did I see trees! AND before we started picking-Grandma treated us to some fresh homemade apple raspberry a la mode and double berry dutch pies! Momma said it was really good but all I wanted was the "a la mode"

Next I played in the haystacks and picked apples (off the ground) and as it was getting too hot to be outside, we bought some strawberries and headed back to the car.

Just a few minutes later we arrived at Sierra Azul (Blue Mountian) Garden. It was a small garden area with lots of funny scupltures! MY favorites were the "Fu-dogs" (dog statues)!

The Joys of Being a Grandma (and grandchild)!!!

Grandma was so happy to drive us back to her house! We spent the whole afternoon playing with blocks, building towers, reading books, and playing with a ball Grandma got for me.

Do you know what else Grandma got?! She got me crayons and a coloring book. I guess it's been a while since Grandma has had children- you better break out the magic eraser!

After going to bed I woke up and we got to watch all new shows. Grandma has different channels than Momma and Papa so I have been able to enjoy "Little Einsteins" and "Mickey Mouse Clubhouse". I told Momma she needs to get these channels!

After breakfast we headed to a place called Mt. Madonna. It is a small mountain we drove up to and we got to see white deer! SO PRETTY!

After that we went to the "ruins". It was an old mansion a very rich man lived in in the 1800's. He owned most of the cattle in the area. (Mommy cant remember his name! Ooppss). We sat in the old windows and walked up and down the old steps. BUT my favorite part was "raking" all the leaves with my trusty stick!

Next we headed to Capitola Beach! Momma told me that she wouldnt take me to the beach because it is dirty. She calls it the toilet bowl! BUT this beach is different she said. The water was a pretty blue and the sand was so pretty and soft (and HOT!). What a beautiful place!

....oh look! ROCKS!

Next we went for a little stroll around the town and Grandma took us to a little shop to get locally made icecream. AND you'll never guess the flavor I picked! Polar Bear Banana and Honey!!! Who could pass THAT up!
