4am comes real early sometimes.

Goodness me oh my! Mommy complains a lot about the fact that it took me so long to sleep through the night. Well- please explain to me why Momma and Pappa was up at 4am this morning!?

You see- momma stayed up til midnight the night before packing and planning the trip out to see Grandma. Finally she couldnt keep her eyes openned and she went to bed. 4 hours later she was back up and continued to pack up all those boxes(suitcases)with our clothing.

Soon enough, all the boxes were filled and lined up to go! And we headed to the airport. It was still a little early for me to be up and out of the house so I had my pancake "to-go"

When we arrived at the airport, we dropped off the boxes and head to our gate. I watched as mommy put my stroller and diaper bag into a x-ray machine. Next was one of the weirdest things I have ever seen happen to mommy.

A man in a blue suit had my diaper bag in his hands and asked mommy if it was hers. She said yes and they asked her to step aside because they had to go through the bag. Papa put me in the stroller and went off the the side.

The man in the blue suit told mommy that they had to go through the diaper bag because it wasnt clear what all was in there from the xray machine. So one by one he began to pull items out and swipe them with a circle shaped cloth. Mommy packed the diaper bag so well, and she knew where everything was incase she needed someone for me quickly. I knew momma was going to be upset that this man was taking eerything out.

A few minutes later an alarm goes off and the man in the blue suit tells momma she needs to stand off to the side some more and that she couldnt move or touch anything on the table where the diaper bag was. He gets on a "walkie talkie" and calls for more security.

A lady comes over to momma and informs her that she is going to have to have a full body search. Mommy had to stand in funny positions and a lady used her hands to make sure mommy wasnt hidding anything. Mommy told me that next time she goes to the airport we will not wear a skirt again!

After swipping the diaper bag again and even going through each diaper wipe, next a another man in a blue suit came over and momma had to open up all the containers and my sippy cup so they could test them. Finally the man in the blue suit put everything back in my diaper bag and momma finally was done. Momma said that my bag tested positive for explosives and that is why they did all that. Explosives?!?!? Oh my goodness. The only thing explosive in the diaper bag would be...well...my dirty diapers!

NOW- onto the airplane itself! How exciting! Momma really thought it would be terrible and that I would cry the whole time. Me? Cry? Nah!

No one sat next to us, so I even got my own seat! But I sat in momma's lap for the take off. It was bumpy and momma held on real tight, but after a minute or two I was up in the clouds! Momma thought I'd be more excited about it, but I found out that these airplans have tables on the back of the chairs...now THAT'S exciting!!!!

We colored on the airplane. We read a book. We sang songs. BUT what I liked most was reading about what to do incase of an emergency. I loved the picture of the airplane in the ater. Mommy told me that it wasnt going to happen- but it sure did look like a lot of fun to come sliding down that yellow slide!

After 2 hours we landed. It was just as bumpy a landing as it was taking off, and boy does mommy told on tight! Everyone kept saying that I should drink water when taking off and landing for my ears, but I didnt want to and in fact- it didnt bother me at all.

So off the plane, in the stroller, and back into another line we go. Only a few minutes later and we were boarded another flight. Mommy told me that this one was going to be very very long and that I should nap. NAP?! Oh who has time for a nap when there is a table on the back of the chair infront of me?!?!

We got lucky again and on this flight no one sat next to me again! Maybe because I felt the need to poop as soon as we boarded.... but I am not sure ;)

And after a nap and 4 hours we finally landed in San Jose, California. Momma said we were very very far from home and that Grandma was just around the corner.

After nearly 7.5 hours I can finally walk. Walk? Nah- it was time to run. And I did just that. I ran throughout the loby and the terminal. Momma wasnt too happy about it because in the morning, right as we were going to board the frist airplane- her flip flop broke. Mommy was very funny walking about the airport with only one shoe ;)

Papa finally picks me up and as we turn a corner- there she is! GRANDMA!

HI Grandma, we arrived!

Go see grandma, airplane?

So this week has been crazy! After Irene (hurricane) came and left- momma had lots of things to pick up in the yard and of course the shed and garage to clean out and pick up.

This week momma has also brought some very big boxes on wheels (suitcases) into the front room and told me that we were going to see grandma.

See grandma?! I run over to the tv. There is where I see grandma, why do we need all those funny looking boxes?

Momma explained that we need to go on an airplane to go see grandma to get a hug. Grandma lives all the way across the country momma said, in California.

You mean, that I am going to be up in the air? In the clouds? On and AIRPLANE!?

Whenever we'd see an airplane I would point to the sky. I love airplanes!!

Mommy isnt too sure about the whole airplane trip. Mommy worries way too much!! I'll be just fine! Right?!?!

I survived hurricane Irene!

Okay, so where is my "I survived hurricane Irene 2011" shirt?!?!

Can you believe I've been through a hurricane at only 20 months?! Wasn't MY idea- I just went along with what ever mommy and papa said.

Hurricane Irene seemed like it came too quickly. At first the news wasn't too concerned about Irene affecting the east coast too much- but that quickly changed! As the week went on it was clear that we were going to be in Irene's path. The big question was how much were we going to be in "her" way!

Momma and Papa went back and forth as to whether we were going to leave or stay. Momma said that she'd stay if it was just her, but because I was here they needed to think what was best for me. How nice of you momma!

Our local area had places that were required to evacuate, but not our area. And Momma and Papa decided that we'd head to Mema's house since it was "safer" (not surrounded by trees and no flooding) there.

Miss Irene (hurricane) was planning to hit our area in the afternoon/evening on Saturday. As time went on the news reported that Irene was only going to be a category 1 hurricane. SO momma and papa (momma mostly, papa wanted to leave!) thought it would be just fine to leave the morning of.

So the morning of came and guess what!?!? Yep- we went under a tornado warning! EK! SO momma didn't want to be driving with the chance of something happening. SO we were stuck at our house.

Leena could have cared less for the whole thing!

Fenton hated getting wet.

I just wanted to go outside! It was so boring being stuck inside all day long!

As the day went on, we played and watched tv. It' rained and it was a little windy. When I went down for my nap the news reported that Miss Irene was moving away from the coast and more out to sea. OH thank goodness! ;) We thought we would be just fine, SURE we'd get rains, and SURE we'd get winds. BUT it wasn't anything we couldn't handle...until.....

Right before we get "hit" by the hurricane, the news was reporting that because of the wind speed/the timing/rains/ and the high tide about to come in- it meant we were going to have tidal flooding. Last time we had tidal flooding I wasn't born yet but momma said that we lost a few things (like the lawn mower and Christmas tree, etc). So in between the rain drops momma and papa went outside and moved things from the floor of the shed and garage up to higher ground. And they just prayed that the tidal flooding wouldn't be too bad.

BOY- was I surprised when momma looked outside and saw the water starting to come up from the marsh. Our high tide was around 9pm. It was only 5pm. What was ever more surprising is when she looked outside 30 minutes later and the water was at the back porch. PANIC TIME!

Momma started moving things off the floors and just lost it! She began to cry and informed me and the dogs and Papa that she was going to do whatever it took to sell the house as soon as the whole thing was over. Next she ran into the "ribbon room" and just started lifting ribbon racks and shelves off the ground and started boxing up all the items she could. Momma was acting CRAZY!

As for Papa and I...well...we just sat there and built towers, read some books and even watched "The Monkey King" (from Ni Hao Ki Lan). Papa told momma not to worry and there was nothing we could do about it. Papa was right- but momma kept going. I don't think I ever saw momma move so fast!

We watched, we waiting, we hoped, and thankfully the winds began to change as the hurricane was moving further out to sea. As Irene traveled away the water seemed to hold tight at the steps. It wasn't high tide yet, but we began to have more hope.

It was almost 9pm, and I was still awake! I think I like these hurricane things, I get to stay up late!

Momma finally put me to bed and gave me an extra hug and a bunch of kisses. Outside my window is a rather large oak tree. Momma was a little worried, so she kept going out in the wind and rain to check to see how the branches were moving. Silly momma- it was okay.

And finally the water began to go down! And when I woke up all that was left was a soggy ground and a yard covered in branches! We were every lucky to have no real damage. Our shed and garage flooded (again). We lost a few memories and we have have a few things we have to throw away. BUT momma is very thankful that it didnt get into the house.

Hurricane season is not over yet- and Momma even said that there is another out in the ocean and she just hopes it stays far, far away!

20 facts about me!

Since today I turned 20 months (if you are counting, please note now that there are 4 more months left until I am 2!!!) I thought it would be nice for mommy to have a little proud mommy moment and list 20 facts about me!

1. I am left handed (still). Mommy really believes I am a lefty just like her. I eat with it, I sign with it, I pick items up and throw things- all with my left hand. Mom- this might be the only thing I got from you!

2. I have a mullet. Yes. It's true. Mommy has even stopped putting headbands and bows on me (for the most part) thinking maybe that is the reason why my hair is so short on it. Whatever the reason- boy it would be nice for people to stop calling me a boy!

3. I can sing my ABC's. Not only can I say my ABC's, but I KNOW my ABC's. This means you point to a letter and I can tell you what it is (90% of the time depending on my mood)

4. I SLEEP! Yes- you thought it would never happen, mommy didnt think it would happen either. BUT it is true. Now I sleep through the night and I even go to my crib AWAKE. I dont cry, I dont scream. I just sign, and kick the back of my crib, and talk to my toys, and kick the back of my crib, and laugh, and kick the back of my crib. Did I mention I like to kick the back of my crib???

5. I Love the water! Mommy and I go to OB (Ocean Breeze water park)at least once a week! It is a water park that has a super awesome water area just for little ones my age and size! I can go down the slides and relax in the lazy river in a little tube. Yep- I could stay there ALL day!

6. I repeat everything! You say it, I'll repeat it. Lately I start pointing to things and say "SAY". For example- I'll point at a car. I'll say, "SAY CAR". I point at the grass, "SAY GRASS". I point at Fenton, "SAY FENTON". I think mommy quickly got the hint that she doesn't need to say "SAY" to get me to tell her what she points at ;)

7. I love flash cards! We went to target one day and came across the dollar section and mommy grabbed some ABC flash cards for me. We went home and little did mommy know that when she showed me these colorful tiny, one page- books....that she would be "reading" me these things over and over and over again. What do I want to do you ask? I want to keep look at these flash cards! SO needless to say- we went back to Target and purchased- numbers, phonics (1 and 2), sight words, presidents, insects, the USA, colors and shape! Mommy has her hands full now!

8. I love to color! If I see a pen/marker/pencil/dry ease marker/sharpie, you name it- I will want to "color" with it. Give me a piece of paper or hand over your couch, carpet, and walls (even Leena a time or too!). I love to color. NOT by myself of course, mommy has to sit there and draw with me or I'll get upset. Everytime I color I expect a TREE, a BIRD, WATER, and a BOAT, a few FISHIES, some CLOUDS, a CIRCLE, SQUARE, TRIANGLE, START, and a HEART and of course Mommy has to write down all the ABC's and numbers 1 through 20 along with my name. Mommy has a tough job sometimes!

9. I know my numbers up to 20
(counting to 20 and in sign language too!) It's true, I do know it. Right now I still need help from mommy for the numbers 11-20. BUT I if you write down any number 1-10 or sign me the number I can tell you what it is. I have even started to "count" a little bit. If you put 5 apples (1 green, 4 red for example) infront of me and ask me how many are red I will point to each one and count 1, 2, 3, 4. Mommy still isnt sure if this is "counting" but come one mom! This is a big deal! ;)

10. When I get in the car I expect mommy to play my favorite music CD! Over...and over...and over...and over again! Mommy and took a "Music Together" preview class and we LOVED it! -Sadly though it was completely out of our comfort level as far as price goes. But the teacher gave out a free mini CD. It has only 5 tracks to it (Hello Everybody, I've been working on the railroad, Zoom Zoom (riding in the car), Obwisana, So long farwell) and only a total of about 10 minutes long. SO whenever we go somewhere I get to hear the whole CD at least 3 times (to and from!) LOVE IT! -Oh...and as soon as you plop my rearend in the car seat and buckle me in- I expect the CD to be playing. If not I will continue to ask for "Hello, body! Hello, body! Helloooooooo body!!!!!!" until you do!

11. I KNOW my colors! For the most part. I still have trouble with some oranges and yellows, but other than those I am pretty good at them. I love to tell mommy what color car is passing us as we drive. "Car blue, hello car blue!" or "weeeee! momma! GREEEEEE(n) car!!!"

12. My mommy and mema has started making a lot of my clothes! Mommy gets these crazy craft ideas! She makes bows, and headbands, and wall decor, and now is wants to make my own clothes? Oh boy! We have been collecting and collecting when we see fabrics on sale and she cuts out patterns and hands them over to my Mema to sew them together. Dont get me wrong- they are super cute (as least she tells me they are, I dont have much of a choice at this point!), I just think she goes a little too crafty crazy some times. For example: she is making party favors for my birthday already! Come on mom! It's four months away!!! ;)

13. Tunnels and puppies are a girl's best friend! OH tunnel! When I wake up in the morning, til I go to bed at night- it's tunnel time! Mommy keeps it out in the front room, but Papa likes to fold it up and tuck it away. I dont think Papa realizes this just creats more work for mommy to bring it back out! Fenton even loves the tunnel too! He will go in and roll around on his back. I join him and climb over him and lay on him. We even sometimes just lay on our backs looking up through the mesh at the ceiling fan. Yep, we are two peas in a pod!

14. My favorite show is Ni Hao Ki Lan! I have alway been a "fan" of the show, but before- YO GABBA GABBA was always my number one. Well move over YGG, a little girl named Ki Lan has caught my eye! Infact, it's the only show mommy knows she can let me watch while she takes a shower and knows that I will be in the same spot where she left me. And if the same episode comes on the same day, who cares, I'll watch it AGAIN!...and again! and again! In fact, I have even started to count (up to 3) in Chinese. I can say "push" and "blow" in Chinese too! Who said TV didnt make good babysitters ;)

15. I love to pick out which shoes to wear! I am just like my mommy- I have a basket FILLED with shoes! OKAY I actually have TWO baskets, but the is mainly because mommy has my fall/winter shoes out already. And I must say I LOVE my fall boots and winter fuzzy boots mommy got for me. Infact- If mommy tries to put any shoe on my foot that I dont want I will push her away and cry and refuse to wear any shoe that she picks out. I love my shoes, and I love to have it my way. INFACT- I prefer to wear my boots with EVERYTHING. OH and dont you dare forget about my fancy little cowgirl hat too! WHO CARES it's 105 degrees outside!

16. I am holding strong at 26 lbs! When I was 14 months I weighed 26 pounds. At 16 months I was 26 pounds. At 18 months I was 26 pounds. NOW at 20 months- well you guessed it. I am still the same. I am getting taller too! Mommy says I am losing my rolls and that she is finding them on her! Silly mommy! Mommy had planned for me to be a little bigger and so purchased quite a few outfits for me to wear during the summer in a size 18-24. WELL SURPRISE! This little chunky monkey is STILL wearing 12-18 months. Looks like you will be packing those clothes away for my little sister (one day!)

17. I would jump all day if I could! On the couch, on the bed, in my crib, on Leena, and on Fenton....I will JUMP EVERYWHERE! I just love it. I have not gotten both feet off the ground at the same time- but I am working on it. Pappy even bought a trampoline for me and my cousin to jump on! I could jump on it all day. Mommy even jokes that she could zip up the netting and leave me out there for hours. (No worries, mommy wouldnt really do that!)

18. Leena has started to like me! That's right! Can you believe it!? Miss Leena- my big four legged sister has actually started to let me come near her without running away! I can lay on her and hug her and even sit on her now. She still gives me worried looks, but over all we are being good friends!

19. I go to Virginia Beach School of the Arts! Mommy has had a very heavy heart about not letting me go to Gymboree (Play and Music) classes. She knows it's a wonderful program but her morals are taking over the education of it all. SO after looking around at a few different music programs a few of mommy's friends recommended we go see Mrs. Virginia at the VBSA (Virginia Beach School of the Arts). We really enjoyed it and was impressed on the method of teaching. The price was right- but BOY the drive is FAR! It takes us at least 40 minutes to get there- so mommy and I just plan to spend the morning/early afternoon running errunds or head to OB after class (since it only 10 more minutes away!). BUT my Mommy and Me music class is well worth it!

20. I skinned my knee for the first time yesterday night while on a walk. Aw, yes. My boo boo! Since I decided to pick out my own shoes when getting ready to go for a walk...maybe next time I should pick out better shoes for WALKING. As mommy and I began our nightly walk after dinner I decided to start running down the driveway. Well one foot got infront of the other and I tripped myself. I fell down and held on tight to my right knee. Mommy checked it out and gave it a kiss and plopped me into the stroller and we went on our way. To mommy's surprise- she happened to look down while walking and saw blood running all down my left leg! Hmmm.... I guess I didnt realize I hurt that leg too! Mommy felt bad, but hey- I was going to skin my knee at some point- why not now!

OH POOP!

Well here is a little tad bit of information you may have missed out on:

When I turned 16 months Mommy decided it was time to start potty training! What in the world was she thinking!? I wasn't ready but mommy was too cute getting all excited about the process. Well- the excitement didn't last too long!

Mommy started by having me watch a short cartoon-ish film (only 10 minutes) about a little girl named Prudence (Once upon a potty) and how her grandma bought her a potty. Prudence went poo poo and pee pee in her diaper just like me, but then one day she started going on the potty. Everyone seemed so proud of little Prudence. But I didn't see what the fuss was all about. Poop in the potty- poop in your diaper. Hey, at least I'm pooping, right???? ;)

Well mommy didn't stop there. We went to Barns and Noble and picked out three books for me to read and we even stopped at Walmart and mommy let me pick out my own potty. Of course I picked the green froggy! RIBBBIT! I loved it! I carried it the whole way through the store, showing everyone my new potty!

We got it home and the very next day mommy started sitting me on the potty. At first it was fun. Mommy got all excited, she clapped and cheered while I sat there and she read me the three books. Okay Mom. I'll sit. You read. This is easy.

Until one day.... after mommy sat me on the potty- every hour, on the hour, I just had to go. So I went. It's just pee pee. What's the big deal? The big deal!? Mommy went CRAZY! She clapped an cheered and jumped for joy. She even called papa at work to tell him the BIG news. BIG news??? I pee pee everyday, what is so special about this time?

You even gave me a cookie? You mean to tell me if I go pee pee on the potty I get a cookie? Well now! that changes EVERYTHING!

So sitting on the potty continued. I would go once a day on the potty. Main because mommy sat me on the darn thing every hour! OF COURSE I am going to end up peeing on the potty!

After about two weeks, I think mommy simply got tired. I mean, having get me to the potty every hour of the day and to only have ONE pee pee on the potty (and a RARE poop). I think mommy finally realized that I was only do so because I was sitting on it for so long. SO mommy decided to give it a break.... At least for another month!

For a month- I watched mommy go potty. I watched as my froggy potty sat there. On the floor. Collecting dust. But I didn't want to sit on it anymore. I didn't even want to go near it!

Then one day mommy took me back to the store. And she had me pick out some very nosey plastic "panties" and some thick cotton ones too. I giggled a little on the inside. Okay mom. I guess it's time to humor you again.

Off goes the diaper. On goes the cotton panties and the plastic ones on top of that. OH boy! this is worse than a diaper! First off- I still go pee pee in the cotton ones. They soak up moisture pretty well! Second off- these plastic panties make me sweat! Third off- They are too nosey when I walk! All the toddlers will KNOW I am wearing these things if they are around! How embarrassing!

These didn't last long- thank goodness!

I would pee in them. I didn't care. I would poop in them. I didn't care. So mommy just had an even bigger mess to deal with in the end. Needless to say- there they sit- the plastic and the cotton panties- in one of my drawers.

Mommy decided to give up. And I won the battle (this time). Mommy didn't mention going potty. Mommy didn't put on the cotton panties and mommy didn't have me sit on the potty anymore.

Mommy told me that she'd wait to potty train me in the fall. Okay mom. So you want to wait until it's cooler out, so I have more clothes to deal with putting on and pulling off. Hmmm.... I am not sure this is going to work either!

______________________________________________________

I do like to surprise mommy. I am now 19 months (nearing 20!) and over the past few days I have started to really realize what is going on in my tummy and when I really need to go pee pee and when I need to go poo poo.

I let mommy know when I go pee pee. And I've started telling mommy when I go poo poo too! Mommy tells me she is so proud of me! I am finally ready to go potty on my froggy and maybe even wear those cotton panties mommy bought for me!

But now mommy said that we are going to be going on vacation to see grandma (who lives in CA!) and that she wants to wait until we get back so we don't have to worry about finding a potty when we are away from home.

WHAT!? You mean to tell me, all this fuss, all this sitting on the potty, all these cookies....and NOW that I tell you when I need to go- YOU want ME to WAIT!?!?!

Okay mommy. Papa is right, you are crazy!

I'm back! (hopefully!)

Phew! It's been a year since I've updated you and future self on all things about ME!

I blame mommy. She doesnt mind ;) She blames herself as well.

Mommy started working from home and started her own small business. With a business licence and paying taxes as well! GO mommy! I of course am her number one customer and her favorite model to show case her work! She enjoys it and gets a little extra to spend on me too!

Sadly while mommy was busy with her new found hobby, she kind of pushed the blog off to the side. Well- we BOTH did, seeing that I never gave mommy a break after I started walking, and running!

BUT the guilt has started taking over ;) and so mommy and I sat down and had a much needed heart to heart.

After all, you are reading this, so it must be important, right? ;)

SO, here I am, a year later. Ready to spill the beans on the good, bad, and stinking!

I know what I want for Christmas!

Well...I want a lot! Everything in fact! But mommy got a catalog in the mail today. I turned the pages past the clothes and toys and went straight to mommy's favorite things.... DIAMONDS!!!

Papa...looks like you are in big trouble! :) Can I have one...or everything? Please!?!?!

one tooth, two tooth, three tooth.....

SO this is what all the fuss is about!

I am sprouting teeth! My high fever is all gone from being sick, but I still have a very low grade fever because I am getting my very first top tooth. Mommy said it looks terrible and boy it does. There is not picture to show you because I wont let anything or anyone near my mouth!

All I want to do all day is cuddle, and mommy is more than happy to meet that need! Sleeping is still tough since I dont want to eat. I just want to nurse nurse nurse and of course try out my chompers on mommy. Poor mommy- you forgive me, right??? :)

Man, who knew getting teeth would be so hard!!!

I'll play play play on the drum drum drum

rat a ta, rat a ta, yumm yumm yumm!!!

Okay. so I know mommy wants me to rum tum tum on the drum. BUT this is no drum! This is a yummy yummy pot. hmmmm!

Mommy was washing dishes and I just wont sit still! So she thought to set down a pot to see what I'd do.

Hello mister pot!

hmmm.....

Oh yes...that's what it's for! yummy!

And we're off!

And by "we're" I of course mean mommy and me! I am now crawling (not yet cruising) and mommy is crawling around after me. SO this is why they say to baby proof beforehand!

Sunday, July 25, 2010

oh bananas!

That's right, bananas! My second food, and so far my favorite! Papa tries to feed me slowly so I can get used to the texture- but I don't care about that! Just give me another spoonful! I'll dive for my bananas! However, mommy tells me the diaper afterwards is just not as grand of an experience. Sorry ma ma...

Welcome to the world of solid poop!

You know what happens when you give a strictly breastfed baby a little avacodo for 5 days straight?

Well, mommy was kind enough not to take a picture of it, but le'ts just say she kind of misses my breastfed baby poop! What a mess!!!

On a side note, I am enjoying my avacodo much more than mommy though I would. I even reach for the spoon and try to feed myself. Do I make a mess? You bet I do!

Avacodo in my tummy, so yummy, so yummy!

July 16th

Well today was the big day! Mommy researched and researched different homemade foods for me. With the help of many websites and mommy's amazing mommy friends she picked avocado (with breast milk too of course) for my first food. Do I like it? I am not sure! It's cold, thick, and comes from a thing called a spoon. Mommy said I'll get used to it, we shall see!

Sick? Again?

Oh boy- between not sleeping and teething I have no more room for being unhappy! Well for 4 days I had a terribly high fever. Mommy felt as though it wasn't serious (even though she kept an eye on me). Last time I was sick the doctor said it was either teething or a virus. Either way there was nothing to do able it but give Tylenol. This time my fever was really high, the highest at 103.5. Mommy checked my temperature every hour, and my rear end now HATES that cold thermometer!

After 36 hours of a fever, mommy breaks down and calls the doctor. We go in to be seen and after all the different tests and check the doctor tells mommy and I the same thing- maybe a virus, maybe teeth, maybe a combination of the two. My eyes, ears, nose, and throat look perfect though (along with the rest of me too) ;)

I promise mommy, one day you'll WANT me to wake you up all night long!

Rub and dub dub, there is a baby in the tub!

OK, well at least in the photo shoot there is one! We haven't quite mastered the real bathtub yet. Well- to be honest mommy and daddy haven't even tried that task yet! I still completely enjoy my little baby tub in the kitchen sink. Mommy said she isn't ready for me to be a big girl yet.

Papa's first father's day!

I dont think I could have asked for a better person to be my daddy. Mommy tells me everyday how you are a good man, a wonderful husband, and an amazing dad. I do believe she is 100% right!

Happy Father's Day Papa, mommy and I love you very very much!

Tuesday, June 8, 2010

OH, that's much better!

So after five days my fever is gone and I am sleeping better (meaning I dont keep mommy up ALL night ...only half the night now!)

I am still cranky most of the day, unless I am chewy on something. ANYTHING mommy has, I want. And if I dont get it I will let you know my fustration!

While mommy was eating a bowl of strawberries and blueberries, I kept fighting to get at the bowl and chew on it.

Mommy had a better idea for me...

what is this new thing?

ohhhh that feels good!

wait! dont take it from me!!!

yeaaaah!

cutting teeth really bites...

Poor poor baby! For the past few days I have been waking up at all hours of the night and staying awake too! Mommy had no idea what was going on, until this morning when I spiked a temperature of 101.5.

Of course mommy was worried, this was my first real fever. Although she felt it was just teeth, she went ahead and was rather safe than sorry and took me to see my favorite doctor, Dr. D!
He checked EVERYTHING! Nope, nothing wrong and all test came back fine. The only thing it could be was teeth. Nope, no teeth....but I am sure they are coming. Oh boy is it painful and makes me fussy all day. Which it so happens to mean mommy is fussing too. Wonder how in the world me getting teeth makes her so fussy?!

maaaa ma. (May 31st 2010)

maa maa... maaaa ma.

Ma ma.

That's right. You heard me. Ma ma. I said it.

Wait. Is that the camcorder? Nope. I wont say it again.

Poor mommy. She heard me say it over and over, but by the time she wen't to go get the flip camcorder I was done. Don't you just hate it when you're the only one who sees, or hears something wonderful and no one believes you?!

Papa was out at the store picking up supplies for the yard and when momma called, he didn't believe her. Ha, it's just between you and me, momma!

So for the rest of the day momma kept trying to get me to say it again. Nope. Not going to happen.

BUT the next morning mommy was changing my diaper and I started talking again.

maaa maa ma. Ma ma.

Next thing I heard from the other room was my papa. "Ok, I heard it."

SCORE! First word goes to "ma maaa" :)

The things about "firsts"

The best things about "firsts" is that they are, in fact, the very first time and they are so special. The sad thing about "firsts" is that they are, in fact, the very last time they are "firsts"

On Memorial Day weekend I went swimming for the first time at my mema's house. She has a nice sized swimming pool and I didn't have to share it with anyone!

It was hot and humid (but what's new?!) and papa put on a special diaper and cover up and took me over to check out this pool they were talking about.

If pictures could talk....

Needless to say I was NOT impressed, and NOT happy about being dipped in the cold water! I am used to having my bath at a warm 97 degrees, not 80 like the swimming pool was.

Papa held me close and tried to get me to enjoy the water. It didn't work too well until momma came in and held me nice and close to her. But I was still very happy to get out of the water.

Momma thinks I was just too tired to enjoy the swim, and boy was she right!

My Aunt Carolyn and Aunt Rachael

How exciting! It seems for the past two months EVERYONE is coming to visit me! I FINALLY got to meet my aunts, Carolyn and Rachael. And what a fun trip to was.

When I woke up I saw them for the first time and my aunt Rachael brought me a black bear all the way from Mammoth, CA.

I love the do, de do, do do do do do's my aunt Rach would sing to me. She is a funny lady! OH and my aunt Carolyn cook the whole time and boy did it smell good, I just wish I had teeth to eat some!

It was very hot and humid while they were here, but that didn't stop us! We headed to the botanical gardens where my aunts got to see bald eagles and all the pretty roses in bloom.

They also got to join me for my very first time at the beach.

I wasn't too fond of the cold cold water, but I did enjoy the sun!

I hated to see them leave. And I can't wait to head out to CA and visit them in nice weather!

It's always hard for me and momma to say goodbye to our guests because we know it will be a long time until we get to see them again. I didn't sleep well for the few days after my aunts left, and mommy thinks it's because I miss them. Well, like always, momma is right :(

Sitting Up and Crab Crawling!

Thats right, I am sitting up on my own from a few seconds to a whole minute! I still need mommy's help because I will tumble right over out of nowhere, but I'm working on it!

Now since I'm rolling over (and over and over) I am starting to crab crawl! I just hope I dont rub off all my hair in the process!

My Grandma and (Great) Aunt Zu Zu's visit

My grandma and great aunt zu zu came all the way from CA to see me! They even stayed for a week. I gave up my room so they could sleep in it, but for some reason no one wanted to sleep in my crib :(

I just love my grandma (even when I cry) she sings me silly songs and tells me all kinds of funny stories! My aunt zu zu is a very funny lady! She talks to me in such a sweet voice and lets me chew on her fingers all day long!

While they were visiting me, we went on a hike to the dismal swamp.

It was quite hot out and I wanted out of my stroller. So of course my papa carried me!

The next day we went to norfolk botanical gardens (twice!).

We walked and took lots of pictures.

There was even a pair of eagles who has 3 babies.

My aunt zu zu got to see an eagle in flight for the first time. Although I am sure she was much more impressed with me ;)

We even stopped and had a pinic lunch my papa made for us. Sadly though while we stopped to take pictures a crow swooped in and stole half of his sandwich!

After all the fun- both my aunt and grandma had to leave and go back home. I dont understand why they can't stay forever :(
